Little Star Learning Dayhome

Educator: Zhina Sun
Language: English and Mandarin
Hello! My name is Zhina, and I am both a qualified early childhood educator and the proud operator of a warm, in-home daycare, [Little Star Learning day home]. For me, this is far more than a job—it is my calling. My passion lies in those incredible early years, where curiosity knows no bounds and every day is a new adventure in learning. I am driven by the profound privilege of nurturing young minds, fostering their natural sense of wonder, and laying the foundational stones of social, emotional, and cognitive development that will support them for a lifetime.
At Little Star, this passion translates into a carefully crafted, homely environment where patience is our guiding principle. I believe that childhood is not a race, and my greatest joy comes from meeting each child exactly where they are. Whether it’s patiently guiding tiny hands through a new puzzle, sitting quietly with a child who needs comfort, or celebrating the hundredth ""why?"" question of the day with genuine enthusiasm, I am committed to providing a space where every child feels safe, valued, and empowered to grow at their own unique pace. Our days are filled with purposeful play, heartfelt connection, and the quiet, patient rhythms that allow young children to truly flourish.

AGE Group:
Toddlers (1–3 years)
Preschoolers (3–5 years)

Activities / Special Programs:
My day home focuses on nature immersion and adventurous outdoor play. I believe the fresh air is our greatest classroom. Our days are structured to ensure generous, uninterrupted outdoor time where children can engage in meaningful, often child-led play. Whether it’s tending to our garden, building fantastical structures with loose parts, embarking on sensory nature hunts, or simply experiencing the seasons with all their senses, this focus allows children to develop resilience, problem-solving skills, and a lifelong connection to the natural world. It is here, amidst the mud, sunshine, and discovery, that patience truly blossoms—as I support them in taking safe risks, resolving conflicts over a shared shovel, and witnessing the quiet concentration of a child watching a worm navigate the soil.
