On February 20, 2026, Inner Garden hosted a joyful and heartwarming Lunar New Year Celebration at Panorama Hills Community Centre.

Children from our Daycare and Dayhome programs, together with their families, gathered to welcome the New Year of the Horse in an atmosphere filled with laughter, warmth, and festive cheer. Dressed in bright, celebratory outfits, the children brought the space to life, while families enjoyed a meaningful evening of connection and cultural celebration.

🎊 A Festive and Welcoming Atmosphere

From red tablecloths and traditional decorations to festive music playing throughout the venue, every detail was thoughtfully prepared. Our staff arrived early to transform the space into a warm and culturally rich environment for our families.

The excitement on the children’s faces as they entered the room was truly the best way to begin the New Year ❤️

🧧 God of Fortune Parade & New Year Blessings

The God of Fortune made a special appearance, carrying a gold ingot and distributing red envelopes and fortune cookies to the children.

With eager smiles and tiny hands reaching out, the children received their New Year blessings

📸 Lunar New Year Photo Booth

A themed photo booth was set up with a festive backdrop, allowing families to capture special memories together.

Parents and children lined up in an orderly manner, taking turns to pose for photos. Each smile captured represented a beautiful memory of Lunar New Year 2026 ❤️

🍡 Sharing Food, Sharing Joy

No Lunar New Year celebration is complete without delicious food. Families enjoyed a variety of traditional treats and warm dishes prepared by our own teachers, including dumplings, rice cakes, mochi, sesame snacks, coconut desserts, oranges, and candies. Sitting together, sharing food, and enjoying conversation perfectly reflected the spirit of reunion and togetherness.

🎯 New Year Games & Fun Challenges

A variety of culturally inspired games brought laughter and excitement to the event. Each game carried a meaningful New Year wish, and children received small prizes upon completing their challenges 🎁

🐉 “Good Fortune Toss” (Pitch-Pot Game) Two children participated at a time, each receiving three chances to toss arrows into a pot. Successfully landing one arrow earned a prize, symbolizing good luck and rising success.

🍊 “May All Things Go Well” Ring Toss Two participants at a time, each with three rings. Landing a ring on a persimmon won a prize, representing wishes for smooth and successful days ahead.

🍾 “Rolling in Good Luck” One participant at a time rolled a red bottle from the starting line. Wherever the bottle stopped, the child read out a New Year blessing before receiving a prize.

🥤 “Rising Higher” Cup Stacking Challenge Up to two children at a time stacked red cups to at least eight levels to win a prize, symbolizing growth and progress.

⚪ “Together as One” Tangyuan Roll Two participants rolled six small balls into holes on a board. Completing the task earned a prize and represented family unity and happiness.

🎨 Cultural Craft Activities

Children explored traditional culture through hands-on creative activities, proudly taking home their own handmade New Year creations.

🏮 DIY Lantern Making Up to four participants at a time created and decorated their own red lanterns to take home.

🧧 “Fu” Printing & Red Envelope Art Using paint rollers and traditional templates, children stamped the Chinese character “Fu” (meaning blessing) onto festive papers and red envelopes.

🌬 Lucky Pinwheel Craft Children assembled colorful pinwheels symbolizing turning luck and positive energy in the New Year.

🖌 Calligraphy Writing With brushes and ink, children practiced writing traditional New Year blessings, experiencing the beauty of Chinese calligraphy.

🎨 Face Painting Fun

One of the most popular stations of the evening was Face Painting. Children chose their favorite designs, adding extra color and excitement to the celebration.

The bright designs and joyful smiles made this activity a highlight of the event 🌈

🌟 Sharing Our Children’s Creations

During the celebration, teachers also took time to share photos and artwork from the children’s recent Lunar New Year activities in our Dayhome programs.

From painting fireworks and crafting lanterns, to making dumplings and practicing writing the “Fu” character, these moments reflected the children’s creativity, excitement, and growing understanding of the traditions behind the celebration.

It was a warm and meaningful way to celebrate their efforts and learning together.

❤️ Gratitude and New Year Wishes

This successful celebration would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of our staff and educators, as well as the strong support and participation of our families.

It is because of our wonderful community that Inner Garden continues to grow as a warm and caring environment for children and families.
